Our Approach

WUMP.io respects the intellectual property rights of creators and third parties. We take copyright concerns seriously and aim to act on all valid reports within 48 hours.

Because WUMP.io is primarily a tools platformm and most content is hosted externally by creators on services such as Dropbox or Google Drive – our role is to remove or disable access to links and landing pages on our Platform that are reported as infringing. Where files have been uploaded directly to WUMP.io, we will also remove the hosted file.

We operate this notice-and-takedown process to satisfy our obligations under applicable UK and EU law, and to comply with the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (the “DMCA”, 17 U.S.C. § 512) in respect of US rightsholders and US-based infrastructure. This policy applies alongside our Terms & Conditions, which are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe that content accessible through WUMP.io infringes your copyright, please email us at [email protected] with the following:

The WUMP.io link(s) you want taken down – the URL(s) of the page(s) on WUMP.io that contain or link to the allegedly infringing material.
What’s being infringed – identify the original copyrighted work (a title, a link to the original, or any information that helps us understand what you own).
Your contact information – your name, email address, postal address, and (if applicable) the organisation you represent.
A statement of good-faith belief – a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement of accuracy and authority – a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
Your signature – your physical or electronic signature.

If we determine the claim is valid, we will disable or remove the reported content and notify the creator who posted it.

What Happens to the Creator

When we act on a copyright report, we notify the affected creator and provide them with information about the claim, so they have the opportunity to respond or submit a counter-notice. Repeated or serious violations may result in account suspension or termination.

Counter-Notices (If Your Content Was Removed)

If you’re a creator and you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you can submit a counter-notice by emailing [email protected] with the following:

Your name and contact information – name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
The content that was removed – identify the material and the WUMP.io URL where it appeared before removal.
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
Your signature – your physical or electronic signature.

On receiving a valid counter-notice, we may restore the content unless the original complainant pursues appropriate legal action, and we will act in line with applicable law.

Repeat Infringers

WUMP.io maintains a policy of terminating the accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers, in appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion.

Misuse of This Process

Filing a false or misleading report is a serious matter. Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing – or that it was removed in error – may give rise to liability, including under Section 512(f) of the DMCA and under applicable UK law. Please only submit reports for content you genuinely own or are authorised to protect.
